Born in Tirana on October 2, 1948. He completed his higher studies in 1972 at ILA in the field of dramaturgy. In the period 1972-1975 he worked as a director at TVSH, where immediately was transferred to the "Bylis" theater in Fier, where he worked as an actor at this theater until the mid-90s, precisely until 1995. In this theater there is a period of time when the actor is affirmed by becoming one of the most prominent of “Bylis” .

He interpreted with professionalism almost all the main roles of the plays staged by this theatrical troupe, be they from our Albanian dramaturgy but also from the foreign one. From our dramaturgy we can single out: Serian in "Gjemimet e atij dimri” by Teodor Lacos; "Balade per nje grua"; "Fytyra e dyte" by Dritero Agolli; "E bukura shtepi e vjeter" by Ruzhdi Pulaha. From foreign dramaturgy can be distinguished the roles in the plays: "Letra e humbur"; "Maria Oktober"; "Koka e tjetrit"; “Dashuri me fantazmat” ”etc. He has been awarded many prizes at Theater Festivals.

In the role of Avni Rustemi in the drama "Dy krisma ne Paris / Two shots in Paris" by P. Kulla, he creates a graceful, noble and courageous figure of our hero. The dramatic defense monologue before the trial, the accusing tones, and the high pathos fit the already sublimated popular image of Avni Rustemi himself; With this role he is honored with the Republic Award. The role of John Proctor in the drama "Shtrigat e Salemit / Witches of Salem" is another achievement in his acting experience while working at the "Bylis" theater in Fier.

In 1995 he continued his acting career in the body of the National Theater where on the stage of this theater he played many roles and even the main one where we can mention "Magjia e madhe / The Great Magic" the first role in T.K; Zoto in the comedy "Ne katin e dyte eshte parajsa / On the second floor is paradise"; "Tiranozauri / Tiranozauri"; Captain Perela in "Burri, virtyti dhe kafsha / The Man the virtue and the Animal"; "Pulebardha / The Seagull” and other roles in plays: "Pleashti ne vesh / Flea in the ear"; "Portreti i Dorian Grej / Portrait of Dorian Greit"; "Reshajet"; "Hije te nates / Shadows of the night"; "Streha e te harruarve / Shelter of the forgotten";

He dramatically interpreted the role of Dr. Stockman in Ibsen's "Armiku I popullit / Enemy of the People" (1999) conveying in the hall the message of endurance and moral integrity, the strength of unwavering will and the courage to oppose a corrupt society. His acting has also appeared in private productions as the role of Vah Pengu in the drama "Harromeni / Forget me" by A. Kumbaro in 2000, "Anonymous of Venice" by the company "Blue Prince" (2002). In 2006 he played the role of Voinicki in the drama "Xhaxha Vanja / Uncle Vanja" by A.P Chekhov. He insisted on intertwining the silent nature of the character with the despair and violent outbursts in the finale. Frank V in the homonymous tragicomedy of F. Durrenmatt (2008) brought in Fatos Sela's interpretation a thoughtful interweaving of the planes of grotesque and sarcastic drama.

He has also acted in several feature films starting in v. 1977 in "Guna permbi tela / Capotes over the wire" in the role of Captain Hodo and later, other roles as in " Shtepia jone e perbashket / Our common home"; "Nentori I dyte / The Second November"; "The Trap / Gracka" et. In 1989 he was honored with the title "Merited Artist" .

Actor Fatos Sela was distinguished for his resounding voice, baritone, for the physical gifts he had a tendency to play heroes, leaders, professors, government, people with expressed individuality. He passed away on December 18, 2013.
