DONIKA FRANJA

Actress of the "Migjeni" Theater - Shkodra

Born on December 7, 1944 in Shkodra. Beatifull and charming actress, who immediately aroused the sympathy of the spectators not only by her performance where she was distinguished by a resounding voice, developed her artistic activity, mainly on the stage of the "Migeni" theater in the '70s until the mid-80s. 

 

 

She was active in various dramas embodying accomplished figures and characters although she played supporting roles. This is how we can mention: "Cartridge in the bag" - 1973 in the role of Diella, (dubbed in other plays by her partner the other actress Annamaria Gjini), written by Fadil Kraja, a play that caused a stir and reached a great success; a year later in the drama "Disintegration" - 1974, or the role of the Prime Minister`s wife in the other play "Drenusha of Drenica`s" - 1978, etc .

 

 

In the '80s, she always continued her performance on the stage of the "Migjeni" theater, being active in comedy (like this one “How close were you”) or any spontaneous  appearance with a variety show. Thus she participates in the "The song of proud pain" - 1980 in the interpretation of poems and prose by MIGJENI together with other actors of this theater. Then we remember Shpresa's interpretation in the play "Everyone laughs"- 1984 (also dubbed by the well-known actress Mirjam Bruceti); in "The Case of Blerta", the bride of one of Blerta's brothers, in the role of Angustia in "The House of Bernarda Alba" - 1986, etc. 

 

 

The actress Donika Franja and her husband David Franja, engineer and professor at the School of Construction in Shkodra who died in July 2020!

It must be said that the spectator of the 80s remembers well Mrs. Donika Franja in the masterful interpretation in the role of Tanusha, the daughter of the blue king, in the drama written by prof. Fadil Kraja "The blod of Arber" - 1982, (written in v. 1981 and recorded in Tvsh in v. 1985), where her temperamental interpretation stands out for the authenticity of the role by her way of reacting to a capricious girl who has fallen in love and urges to do at all costs for himself Paul of the land of Arber (interpreted by B. Shllaku) which has been occupied by the army of her father, the blue king (interpreted by R. Rama). She had the chance to perform alongside with the bright Shkodra`s artists from Lec Bushati, Tinka Kurti, Serafin Fanko, Viktor Bruceti, etc.
