SHKELZEN SHALA (1925 -?)

Director of chronicle and documentary films.

He was born in Tirana on December 25, 1925, where he graduated from the technical high school. He worked for some time at Radio Tirana as a radio reporter and later as an editor in writing texts at the Kinostudio "Shqiperia e re". Since 1958 he started shooting chronicle and documentary films himself, making about 80 films, 60 of which were documentaries with different themes. The first chronicle film shot by him was "Vizitoni Shqiperine" 1958 while the first documentaries "Me kot e kini" and "Brigada Qemal stafa" - 1959.

Among his most famous films are: “Aleksander Moisiu” – 1960 / “Shqiponjat e malit” – 1962 / “Qytet i kongresit historik” – 1964 / “Anes Drinit” – 1965 / “Rritje” – 1967 / “Ne portin e Durresit” – 1970 / “Udhetim me detaret tane” – 1971 / “Trenistet” – 1972 / “Bakri yne” – 1975 / “Ishte dikur  nje legjende “ – 1976 / “Urat e Kukesit” – 1977 / “Flora shqiptare” – 1977 / “Jeta buze liqenit” – 1981 / “Veshjet popullore” – 1981 etj.

Shkelzen Shala has also directed the shooting of several dozen newsreel
