Gezim Qendro (1957 - 2008)
Painter, animated film director and Lecturer at the Academy of Arts.
He was born on December 22, 1957. He graduated from the "Jordan Misja" Art High School in Tirana in the field of painting. He also completed one year of higher education at the Academy of Fine Arts, completing them at the V / d Beeldenke Kunsten Academy in Amsterdam, the Netherlands during the period 1992-1996. On January 30, 1980 he started working as a painter in the cartoon department at the Kinostudio "Shqiperia e re" later called AlbaFilm Animation. In 1984 he made his first film as a painter "Upside Down Empire" where he was honored with the Medallion for Drawing at the 6th Cartoon Film Festival. His first film as a painter and director was in 1986 "Frymezim", continuing with Other films such as: "Pipiruku ne hambar" (1987); "Parullat" (1988); "Kampioni" (1989) etc. In December 1997 he was appointed Director of the National Gallery of Fine Arts in Tirana, where he became the initiator and director of this magazine "Panarama", the body of this gallery. He is also the author of many articles and translations based on various media outlets. As a painter she has participated in several painting exhibitions inside and outside Albania as in 4 such in the Netherlands (1994-1995); in the exhibition Grado in Italy (1996) as well as 4 exhibitions in Tirana Onufri, that of Photography Marubi gallery XXI in 1998, etc. He passed away on February 27, 2018.
