ALEKO SKALI (1922 - 1980)

Remembering One of the veterans of Albanian acting. 

Actor of the “A. Z Cajupi” Theater - Korce and director of the Estrada troupe . 

Born in Korca on December 6, 1922. He finished Lyceum in Korca, proving himself a well-known intellectual. From the beginning of v. `30 became active with the theater group "The Youth" of Korca, standing out as a talented and promising actor. After the liberation of the country, he worked as a journalist at Radio Korca, covering the cultural and artistic life of the city and beyond. In 1950 he was one of the founders of the theater "A, Z Cajupi" being included in its first premiere in the drama "Overthrow" by Lavrenjev. He was one of the successful actors of this troupe in the years of consolidation and progress towards the increase of artistic quality, even the director Sokrat Mio activated him in many cases as an assistant director, work that he did until v. 1960 when he was appointed director of the Professional Estrada troupe immediately after its formation. He performed this task until v. 1968 realizing about 30 premieres, as well as the operetta "Together life is a song." 

 
 

Aleko Skali was also a stage writer with a series of creations in the field of humor. Wrote beautifully dramatic parts, song lyrics, etc. As a veteran artist and with undeniable help in the way of climbing the Theater and Variety of Korca, he was also characterized by his love, work and passion for art. He has also participated in two roles in cinematography, in the films "Scanderbeg" and "The Facing". He passed away in 1980.
