ANASTAS KONDO (1937 - 2006)
Writer, screenwriter. He is the author of the screenplay for the movie "Dimri i fundit / Last Winter".
Born in Kucove to a family from Vunoi on November 28, 1937, he finished high school at the Polytechnic "7 Nentori" in the branch of geology in Tirana, later he graduated in geology in Leningrad (San Petersburg) in the former USSR. The tendency for literature started since he was in the school benches. While he worked as a geological engineer in sametime he published several stories and novels , some of which were screened turning into film scripts by himself or as co-authors with professional filmmakers and directors of Kinostudio like K. Dilo, M. Fejzo, N. Lako , R, Gjoza etj. The first film made according to his story was "Kur zbardhi nje dite / When a day dawned" - 1971 . Even the screenplays of the films "The Explosion" - 1974 / "A little Partisan Velo" - 1980 were co-written. He is former co-author or author in 5 other film scripts such as: "Couriers" - 1976 / "Treasure" - 1981 / "Mission beyond the sea" - 1988 / " Death of a man" - 1992. One of the most successful films made according to his story " Women of my village" was " Last Winter" - 1976. He has also been known for his literary creativity where some of the works have been awarded national awards. Among the volumes with stories we mention " Bridge", "When the man finishes and dies", " Gates of the sun", " Why they killed Odysseus", "Kio", "People and stones", " When a day dawned", etc.
The writer, journalist and screenwriter of several well-known films, Anastas Kondo is the author of several textbooks and scientific studies, which laid the foundations of the science of Micropaleontology in our country. For several years he worked in the management of the literature, culture and education sectors. He has also worked as Deputy Minister of Education and Culture, Secretary of the Writers and Artists League, Chairman of the Culture and Arts Committee. A. Kondo passed away on May 19, 2006.
